William & Mary's strength and stability rests squarely on the generosity of many alumni and friends. During the groundbreaking Campaign for William & Mary (2000-2007), you helped us raise a half-billion dollars for this remarkable institution. But our work isn’t over.
We want to continue to attract the top students in the nation and extend the reach of a William & Mary education to every deserving applicant. We want to reward our hard-working faculty who are both world-famous scholars and committed teachers. We want to continually expand and improve our historic, beautiful campus. Critical to supporting the College’s ongoing pursuit of excellence is The College of William & Mary Foundation. Through a unique combination of endowed and annual gifts, the Foundation continues to fulfill its original mission — to “aid, strengthen, and expand in every proper and useful way the work, usefulness and objects of” the College. A diligent steward of more than three-quarters of the College’s investments since 1939, the Foundation currently manages an endowment of $585 million through the William and Mary Investment Trust (WAMIT).
